If a break occurs in the distribution line, Burke County General Services will work to repair the line as quickly as possible. When weather conditions begin to return to normal, breaks in the lines may be discovered. To report leaks 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., please call 828-764-9060. To report leaks after hours, please call 828-437-1911. A break in the water line from the water meter to a residence is the responsibility of the property owner.<span aria-hidden="true"></span></p>

The Board of Commissioners at their regular meeting on December 19, 2017 passed a resolution declaring the opioid crisis a public nuisance which must be abated for the benefit of Burke County and its residents and citizens and signed a contract with a large number of law firms throughout the southeastern United States to file civil litigation in the courts. </p>
