The Planning Board serves a key role in shaping the future development of the county as it reviews subdivisions, assists in area plans, and makes land use decisions, which are forwarded to the Board of Commissioners. Operating in a quasi-judicial fashion, the Board of Adjustment considers requests for variances to the County Zoning Ordinance and appeals of determinations made by the Planning Administrator.
