Notice of Public Hearing<div class="ExternalClass183E1265F187431C9C1A4CAD1194BA20"><p>​</p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>BURKE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>DECEMBER 19, 2017</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>6:00 PM</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;"> </p><p style="text-align:justify;">At its November 21, 2017 meeting, the Board of Commissioners (the "Board") of the County of Burke, North Carolina (the "County") adopted a resolution which:</p><p style="text-align:justify;">1.         Authorized the County to proceed to pay the capital costs of constructing a new jail facility in the County (the "Project"), pursuant to an installment financing contract (the "Contract"), in a principal amount not to exceed $21,000,000 under which the County will make certain installment payments, in order to make the Project available to the County;</p><p style="text-align:justify;">2.         Authorized the County to proceed to provide, in connection with the Contract, as grantor, a deed of trust, security agreement and fixture filing (the "Deed of Trust") under which the County's interest in the real property on which the Project will be located and the improvements thereon (the "Mortgaged Property"), will be mortgaged by the County to create a lien thereon for the benefit of the entity, or its assigns, providing the funds to the County under the Contract.  The Project will be located at 130 Government Drive, Morganton.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">On payment by the County of all installment payments due under the Contract, the Deed of Trust and any lien created thereunder will terminate and the County's title to the Mortgaged Property will be unencumbered.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Sections 160A-20 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, that on <span style="text-decoration:underline;">December 19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Board Room, County Services Building, 110 North Green Street, Entrance E, Morganton, North Carolina, a public hearing will be conducted concerning the approval of the execution and delivery of the Contract and the Deed of Trust and the County's financing of the Project.</span><span style="text-decoration:underline;">  </span><span style="text-decoration:underline;">All interested parties are invited to present comments at the public hearing regarding the execution and delivery of the Contract and the Project to be financed thereby. </span></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Kay Honeycutt Draughn </p><p style="text-align:justify;">Clerk to the Board of Commissioners</p><p style="text-align:justify;">County of Burke, North Carolina</p><p style="text-align:justify;"> </p><p style="text-align:justify;"> </p></div> of Public Hearing Notice/DispForm.aspx?ID=179 | Lance Riddle | 693A30232E777C6275726B655C6C616E63652E726964646C65 i:0#.w|burke\lance.riddle11/29/2017 6:42:41 PM03300aspx12 Notice/AllItems.aspxFalse
