Geographic Information System (GIS)

GIS mapping information is not a substitute for information that would result from and accurate land survey. See the Find a Surveyor link to contact a local surveyor that can help you locate your property boundaries.

Geographic Information System (GIS) technology includes data and solutions that are used to solve problems worldwide in government, education, business and other professions. Burke County Geographic Information Services uses this technology to collect, update, distribute and analyze geographic information that is available through online applications such as Map Viewer and the Data Download Page.

The GIS Department has released an updated version of it's online Map Viewer.  Updates include Google Maps and Street view integration as well as data exports to excel.  To see a complete demonstration, you can view the online video
here on YouTube.
