Animal Services
We are a county operated shelter, whose function is to take in stray animals from Burke County. We aim to reunite those animals with their owners, or adopt out unclaimed animals. We also educate pet owners on spay/neuter to reduce pet overpopulation.

Emergency Communications - 911
The mission of the Burke County Emergency Communications Center (BCECC) is to serve the community and local government agencies with effective emergency communications services.

The Division of Emergency Management is responsible for the governmental function that coordinates and integrates all activities to build, sustain and improve the capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from or mitigate against threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism or other manmade disasters.
