Burke County Reports Thirty-first Death

Morganton, NC: Burke County Public Health was notified today and is reporting the thirty-first COVID-19 related death in Burke County. The individual in their 70’s was hospitalized but died from COVID-19 related complications. To protect the family’s privacy, no further information about the patients will be released.

“Our hearts go out to the friends and family of this individual and we send our deepest sympathies. Each death deeply impacts families within our community,” said Burke County Health Director Rebecca McLeod. It is imperative for residents to follow the recommendations of Wear, a cloth face covering when out in public and cannot physically distance yourself from others, Wait at least six feet away from others and Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.”
