Burke County Reports Thirty-fifth Death

Morganton, NC: Burke County Public Health was notified today and is reporting the thirty-fifth COVID-19 associated death in Burke County. The individual in their 70’s was hospitalized but died from their underlying medical conditions. To protect the family’s privacy, no further information about the patients will be released.

“We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of this individual.” said Burke County Health Director Rebecca McLeod. It is imperative for residents to follow the recommendations of Wear, a cloth face covering when out in public and cannot physically distance yourself from others, Wait at least six feet away from others and Wash your hands frequently with soap and water since the largest portion of our spread is among close contacts.”
