 PUBLIC NOTICE

 The Burke County Planning Board will hold a Public Meeting at 5:30 PM on June 27, 2019 in the Commissioners Meeting Room/County Services Building located at 110 N. Green St. in Morganton, NC (Door E). At the meeting they will take public comment regarding the following matter:

ZTA 2019-01: Applicant Mark & Karen Sammons – A request to amend Section 1216 of the Burke County Zoning Ordinance. The proposed amendment would permit metal as an option for roofing material used on residential boat docks.

ZMA 2019-03 Applicant:  Burke County – is proposing to rezone seven (7) parcels of land consisting of approximately 161 acres. Four parcels corresponding to PIN’s 17653000065, 1765318282, 1765418351, and 1764694579, will be zoned from the Planned Residential Mixed-Use “Conditional” District (PRMU-CD) to the Residential One (R-1) Zoning District. Two (2) parcels corresponding to PIN’S 1764483488 and 1764573876 is proposed to be rezoned from Planned Residential Mixed-Use “Conditional” District (PRMU-CD) to the General Business (G-B) Zoning District. One parcel corresponding to PIN# 1764592030 is proposed to have slit zoning. Approximately 77 acres is proposed to be rezoned to the R-1 District and approximately 7.00 acres fronting on NC 126 is proposed to be rezoned to General Business (G-B) Zoning District.

Also included in the rezoning is Phase I of the Hawksbill Subdivision. The Hawksbill properties are further identified by Plat Book 32 Page 110. All parcels are petitioned to be rezoned from PRMU-CD to the Residential One (R-1) District.
