Burke County Reports Two Additional Deaths

Morganton, NC: Burke County Public Health was notified today and is reporting the forty-fifth and forty-sixth deaths. The forty-fifth was a COVID-19 associated death of an individual in their 80’s hospitalized but later died from their underlying medical conditions and the forty-sixth death was an individual in their 50’s hospitalized but later died from COVID-19 related complications. To protect the family’s privacy, no further information about the patients will be released.

“Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends of these individuals.” said Burke County Health Director Rebecca McLeod. It continues to be imperative that residents follow the 3 W’s recommendations, Wear, a cloth face covering when out in public or in any gathering inside or outside and cannot physically distance yourself from others, Wait at least six feet away from others and Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer if you don’t have access to soap and water. It may keep you from getting sick, but more importantly it could also save someone else’s life.”
