Burke County’s Response to COVID-19

• Burke County is currently at 7677 positive cases. These are cumulative cases for the county. If you want to see a breakdown of the cases, please go visit the https://www.burkenc.org/dashboard webpage

• Para español llame al 764-9150 y presione el número dos. Si nadie contesta deje un corto mensaje con su nombre y numero de teléfono.

The numbers continue to stay high because of the holiday gatherings and travel.

As of January 14, the Governor, following the federal lead, has lowered the older adult vaccine age to 65 and has changed the priority groups again. BUT we do not have the ability to expand the 75+ age group getting vaccinated to include the 65-74 age group. We will need to vaccinate more of the 75+ group before we can include the 65-74 ages due to limited supply of vaccine.

We are asking that everyone please be patient and understand that everyone who wishes to receive a vaccine will eventually get one, but it will not happen in a couple weeks. There is more demand for the vaccine than there is supply to anywhere in the State or nation.

We appreciate your patience as we try to vaccinate those eligible and interested as fast as possible.
