Jonas Ridge Convenience Site & Cranberry Bog Nature Park

Burke County is pleased to announce that the 17 acre Cranberry Bog parcel has officially been deeded over to Burke County by Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina.

The County is continuing with the acquisition process for the final piece of property needed to move forward with the project. The owner of the land is deceased and the property reverts to the heirs. The County was able to make contact with the heirs who are working through an attorney in Asheville. The attorney has acquired signatures from 22 of the 31 heirs needed to be able to sell the land. Once the attorney has signatures from each of the heirs, the County will be able to purchase the property and begin design work.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through this complex process to bring you the future Jonas Ridge Convenience Site & Cranberry Bog Nature Park.
